Jimmy Carr introduces 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown
8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown fans turned detective on Friday’s episode of the ITV gameshow (August 16) after spotting a major clue the show was an “ancient” repeat.
Fans eagerly tuned in to watch four new guests join host Jimmy Carr for the “Cats Does Countdown” edition of the show, where he was joined by Jonathan Ross, Richard Ayoade, Maisie Adam, Kemah Bob and Sarah Keyworth.
But just a few minutes in, fans took to social media to share their views on the episode, with many saying it was very old.
“Just how long ago was this ‘new’ #CatsCountdown filmed?” asked one fan.
Another quipped: “These 'New' #Catscountdown were recorded two years ago.”
Others claimed to have spotted clues that the show was old, noticing that comedian Maisie Adam had a very different hairstyle.

“That’s not @RachelRileyRR? Where’s Rachel Riley?” asked one annoyed viewer.
“#catscountdown not the same without @RachelRileyRR bring her back!” requested another.
The show is the most recentChannel 4series to be paused.
Channel 4 has not recorded a new series for this year and has been sitting on the present one since it was delivered last year.

The show, also known as Cats Does Countdown, is a mash-up of comedy panel programme 8 Out of 10 Cats and daytime quiz Countdown, hosted by Jimmy Carr and is one of Channel 4's longest-running unscripted series and has been a ratings hit. More than 150 episodes have been made in the last 12 years.
Although it is believed the delay is a reflection of Channel 4's financial challenges and a sign of an attempt to spread its shows farther across the schedule, Deadline reported that talent availability plays a factor in filming and that Cats Does Countdown has always been ordered ad hoc.
Channel 4 hasn’t confirmed when new episodes will be filmed.
Last year it axed Steph’s Packed Lunch, SAS: Who Dares Wins andThe Big Narstie Show. It is believed the cuts are an attempt to keep costs down because of budget cuts.
