Supermarket giant Aldi has revealed a major change to its Sunday opening hours to support football fans during this summer's Euro 2020.
The budget retailer has confirmed it is extending its opening hours each Sunday throughout the championships to give customers extra browsing time.
It comes ahead of England's first game of the competition this coming Sunday (June 13), when the Three Lions will kick off their campaign against World Cup finalists Croatia.
The game kicks off at Wembley at 2pm and the budget retailer has announced its changes to give fans more opportunity to access stores prior to matches.
The changes mean Aldi will be opening its supermarkets half an hour earlier each day, providing extra time for customers to browse before tills open.
It means stores across the country will open at 9.30am, rather than the usual 10am in line with Sunday trading rules.
This time is limited only to browsing, meaning customers will have to wait until 10am before being able to purchase any items from the shops.
But Aldi says it has taken the decision to give fans "more time to stock up" on its goods.
Richard Thornton, Communications Director at Aldi UK, said: "We can’t wait for the football to kick off this weekend and want to help our customers enjoy the tournament as much as possible.
"Opening earlier will give fans more time to stock up on the great quality Aldi bargains they need to enjoy the football."
The early Sunday opening time will continue throughout the summer to also give shoppers across the UK chance to visit their local store at a quieter time.
The amendment comes into effect from this weekend.
No other supermarket has announced similar measures on their websites.
