Mission 5 - The Devil Sword Sparda is part of the IGN's Devil May Cry 5 Walkthrough. Follow along to find Blue Orb Fragments, Secret Missions and more.

Though V and his pet demons made short work of Nidhogg, a bigger demon came along, breaking the roads and sending V down below.

Down in the sewer, you'll encounter some enemies right away. Defeat them and head forward until you reach some blood clots. Destroy them to open up the path - a tunnel with some red orbs inside.

Head through to activate a short cutscene introducing the area, a warehouse. Jump to the top of the scaffolding. A weird demon part will attack, but it will retreat after a few hits.

Ahead, a real battle will begin. About halfway through, the demon part will dip down to antagonize V again. Attack it a few times to fend it off and defeat the other creatures to unblock the path.

Jump down ahead of you.

It seems like a dead end. If you turn around, you'll see aroot blood cloto your left. Instead, head into the narrow passage to the right to find aBlue Orb Fragment.

Now, go back and break the blood clot. Continue down that path and around the corner - eventually you'll find a large bloot clot bush, and the claw monster will again attack. Fend it off and continue.

Head to the Secret Missions page for more details on how to activate Secret Mission 04 here. You must jump over some containers, and then use Nightmare near a makeshift wall of scaffolding. On the other side (after you fight enemies) you'll find yellow spiral staircase to climb, where you'll find the mark for Secret Misison 04.

A short cutscene will play when you jump down, introducing you to an Empusa Queen. She moves quicker than you'd expect, so keep on your toes to stay out of her way.

Continue through the narrow path until you reach a larger area with some barrels on fire to your left.

Jump up the nearest platform in front of you and turn around to see a Purple Orb Fragment back from where you came, but hidden above. Use Griffon's assistance gliding to it to get it.

Go back into the open room, climbing on the makeshift path above. At the other end of the room, look down to find a blood clot. With the roots gone, head back the way you came (this time on the floor) and Griffon will point our a hole on the left, where there are red orbs floating above.

Jump down, and make a right to the dead end. Stand on the puddle of blood here for a few seconds to earn a Red Orb Cache.

Up ahead, enemies, including an Empusa Queen eventually, will attack. Focus on defeating the green empusa first - this one will continuously heal the Empusa Queen!

After defeating them, continue ahead. You'll find a few more weak enemies at a fork. After defeating them, go right to find a Gold Orb.

Now head down the other path to make it back to the outside. Head to the phone boothto the left to get some upgrades if you need them.

Continue through the pathway in front of the phone booth to trigger a a cutscene and boss fight.

Boss Fight - Elder Geryon Knight

This knight is much bigger than you, has farther reach than you, and can somehow control time.

Despite all of this, this fight should be fairly straight forward. When you see the Knight hold up his lance, and the Geryon (the timesteed!) rear up, prepare for them to charge you.

When the Knight holds up his left hand instead and it shines, prepare for him to shoot projectiles at you. Regardless of which he does, if you're locked on, you should be able to dodge after anticipated his moves.

Remember, you can jump to gain invincibility on the way up to dodge, and V can quickly move backwards with Griffon by holding RB+LS back + A/X.

Eventually, the Geryon Knight will throw down barriers that distort time. Get out of these bubbles ASAP - they significantly slow V down to a crawl.

With all of this in mind, keep dodging from a distance while summoning Nightmare whenever you can to get through this fight easily.
