Wanna Bet? Who can pull a John Deere 6175M the fastest for 50 meters using muscle power? In sunny Zweibrücken (Germany), the Messe2Brücken fair took place last weekend. Colleagues from the John Deere factory in Zweibrücken were, of course, also present. Friday was Career and Education Day, giving final-year students the opportunity to learn about various career and training opportunities. One of the highlights was on Saturday afternoon:A tractor-pulling competition 🚜A total of five different teams signed up, each consisting of four strong men and women and one person acting as a motivator to cheer on their respective team. What were the conditions?👉 A John Deere 6175M tractor (weight approx. 7.5 tons)👉 It is pulled 50 meters by four people using a rope (no handles or grips, no harnesses)👉 Two rounds👉 Against the stopwatchThe winner after the two rounds was the team from the John Deere factory in Zweibrücken, with an impressive time of 40.28 seconds in the first round and even 39.61 seconds in the second round.Congratulations to the entire Zweibrücken team on this impressive success, well-deserved through teamwork, strength, and determination!

Richard Quadt, you missed to mention that this happened also with zero emissions 🌍... but I am unsure about the real fuel consumption of the team 🍺. 🤣

Startklar Mannheim ... Welche Ausbildungsberufe bietet John Deere in Mannheim an?

MAlumni

From 1921 to 2024: A Century of John Deere Tractors in 30 SecondsThe history of tractor production in Mannheim (Germany) began with the founding of Heinrich Lanz AG in 1859. Heinrich Lanz, a pioneer in agricultural machinery, laid the foundation for the production of steam engines and agricultural equipment. In 1921, the first Lanz Bulldog, a simple yet robust tractor, left the workshop in Mannheim and quickly became a symbol of simplicity, reliability, and efficiency in agriculture. The popularity of the Lanz Bulldog was due to its single-cylinder two-stroke engine, which could run on various fuels, and its ability to operate under harsh conditions. In 1956, John Deere acquired Heinrich Lanz AG and continued the production and development of tractors. This marked the beginning of a new era for tractor production in Mannheim. John Deere brought its advanced technologies and manufacturing methods to modernize production and increase efficiency. In 1960, the first John Deere tractor rolled out of the factory in Mannheim. These new tractors combined the proven robustness of Lanz tractors with the innovative technologies of John Deere. The introduction of John Deere tractors in Mannheim not only modernized production processes but also expanded the product portfolio to meet the growing needs of farmers worldwide. In March 2023, the 2,000,000th John Deere tractor (6R 250) rolled out of the factory. In over 102 years, more than 60,000 employees have worked on the tractors produced in Mannheim.Want to see more? Interested in the history of tractors in Mannheim? Do you want to see them and even touch them? Then we would welcome you to our John Deere Forum in Mannheim (Germany), typically open from Monday to Friday (09:00 to 16:00), to watch a video with additional information, experience a virtual factory tour and the real tractors on display.
