What is the EEG tax in Germany? ›

EEG levy. The EEG levy for non-privileged end consumer sales amounts to 3.723 c/kWh from 1 January to 30 June 2022 and 0.000 c/kWh in the period from 1 July to 31 December 2022 in accordance with Section 60 (1a) EEG 2021. For electricity covered by the special equalisation scheme pursuant to Sections 63 ff.

The Renewable Energy Sources Act or EEG (German: Erneuerbare-Energien-Gesetz) is a series of German laws that originally provided a feed-in tariff (FIT) scheme to encourage the generation of renewable electricity.
