If you're paranoid that this is still happening, you can turn off tracking from the mobile app and, allegedly, it won't be able to tell if you are inside or outside of a store.

Target provides customers with the option to receive email notifications of incoming orders. You'll be informed if Target restocks its online or in store inventory, and you can click on the notification icon within either app or website.
