We are excited to announce that the US Marshal Service has approved our Walden Security Training Academy for Phase II Training. Phase II Training is a week-long course of study for Court Security Officers (CSOs) that provides academic and on-the-job training. Courses cover active shooters, vehicle inspections, x-ray detection, and more. Upon completing Phase II Training, CSOs have the expertise and training to handle all security needs at their courthouse. This new chapter for Walden Security is due to the diligent work of our Training Academy team. They spent countless hours preparing, practicing, and evaluating all aspects of their work. They are committed to the success of all participating CSOs and adhere to the highest standards through the Training Academyโs core values of professionalism, education, accountability, respect, and leadership. The Training Academy is based at Walden Securityโs corporate headquarters in Chattanooga, Tennessee. A new class will begin every other week, each with twenty CSOs. #waldentrainingacademy #waldenCSOs #training #protection #security

I think in this day and age, at least every armed security officer needs this type of training, if not all security officers. A proactive approach in the potential of an incident is better than a reactive one.

Congratulations to Timothy Tessler, our 2023 Court Security Officer of the Year from the Eastern District of Wisconsin!CSO Tessler joined Walden Security in 2011 after serving 25 years with the Milwaukee Police Department. His courthouse staff consistently compliments his quality performance, professionalism and reliability. During one stressful situation, CSO Tesslerโs actions were praised. He received a call that a courthouse staff member had opened a letter containing a powdery substance. CSO Tessler immediately coordinated the lockdown procedures and helped facilitate the response that included four paramedic units, mobile command, three hazmat units, fire trucks, and six traffic control squads.

Pam McKinley received a SPOT Award in May for de-escalating a situation between two teenagers. She was professional, gentle, and firm with the teenagers, offering advice on avoiding fighting and talking things through. She handled the situation excellently and, in doing so, modeled the advice she was giving the teenagersโto be professional, respectful of others, and to talk. On this Memorial Day, let us commemorate the men and women who gave their lives while protecting our nation. It is because of their ultimate sacrifice that our liberty remains guaranteed. To the loved ones of service members who gave their lives, know their bravery and spirit will never be forgotten. As we look forward to the start of summer and embrace our freedom, we do it in their honor and memory.
